DURRES/SARAJEVO, September 25 (FENA) - Chief of the Joint Staff for Armed Forces Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH), Lieutenant General Senad Mašović, participated today at the 23rd Conference of chiefs of staff of the Armed Forces of the countries-members of the US-Adriatic Charter (A5), held in Durres - Republic of Albania.
Addressing the Conference participants, General Mašović emphasized the exceptional importance of the A5 Initiative for Bosnia and Herzegovina and its armed forces, and reaffirmed its support for further work by continuing to strengthen successful cooperation between the countries-members, thus contributing to strengthening of a secure and stable environment, as an essential precondition for further development of the region.
During the Conference, senior representatives of the armed forces of the A5 member countries participated in discussions on the main topic "Improving NATO interoperability and readiness to face common security threats and challenges".
The conference ended with signing of Joint Statement reaffirming the desire to strengthen joint cooperation among the armed forces in the region, announced BiHMoD Public Relations Office.
The US-Adriatic Initiative was established in 2003 to strengthen regional security and stability as a precondition for faster integration into Euro-Atlantic integration.
