BiH CoM supports World Bank pilot project to reduce unemployment in BiH

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, January 23 (FENA) - The BiH Council of Ministers reviewed information from the World Bank today and agreed to launch activities to implement a grant project for employment in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

These activities support the reforms being implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the aim of reducing informal employment and strengthening the employment services focused on youth and those less connected to the labor market, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina stated.

These are pilot activities that would rely on private-sector employment providers to support the unemployed registered in public employment bureaus.

The ultimate goal is to examine alternative employment service delivery models, primarily for the long-term unemployed young people.

The project will be funded by a grant, and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2021.
