BRČKO, February 7 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Staša Košarac, said today during a visit to the Brčko District that he wants to affirm the cooperation of the entity ministers and, given the specific status of the Brčko District, with the Coordinator of the Brčko District in the BiH Council of Ministers, considering it to be a good format for cooperation.
“As you know, Chairman Tegeltija himself announced a high degree of coordination with lower levels of government, above all the governments of the entities and the Brčko District of BiH. For this reason, on the basis of such a policy of the Council of Ministers, there is nothing left but to work together and to have periodic working meetings,” said Minister Košarac, after the meeting with the Mayor of Brčko District Siniša Milić and members of the Government of Brčko District.
Mayor Milić stated that today's meeting was of a consultative and working in character and that the members of the Government of the Brčko District of BiH have had the opportunity to get acquainted with the priorities and methodology of work of the Council of Ministers.
Milić emphasized that this is a completely new approach of the Council of Ministers, which aims to affirm the position of the Brčko District and other lower levels of government, while ensuring that decisions taken at the level of the Council of Ministers reflect the needs of the people on the ground.
“We have not made sufficient use of the presence of our coordinator in Sarajevo. Therefore, it is a statute-established administrative body with a permanent presence on the Council of Ministers.
I am certain that with this approach and our commitment, this position in the Council of Ministers can enable us better protection of the interests of the District,” said Mayor Milić.
