BiH PA HoR today discusses the bills on HJPC, BiH institutions financing

SARAJEVO, February 26 (FENA) - The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA) at today’s session will consider a request by MP Dragan Mektić that the Bill on the termination of mandate of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) in the current convocation is considered in emergency procedure.

In his explanation, the proponent stated, among other, that one of the reasons for proposing the law was "restoring public confidence in the work of judicial institutions and holders of judicial positions".

The MPs will also consider the Bill amending the BiH Human Rights Ombudsman Act, proposed by the BiH Council of Ministers.

The Bill on Amendments to the Law on Financing of Institutions of BiH, which was also proposed by the Council of Ministers of BiH, which foresees the establishment of a budget inspectorate within the Ministry of Finance and Treasury, will also be considered.

In the first reading, the deputies will consider the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Execution of Criminal Sanctions, Detention and Other Measures, proposed by the Council of Ministers of BiH, as well as the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Medicines and Medical Devices, proposed by MPs Mirjana Marinković Lepić and Predrag Kojović.

Members of the Parliament will also discuss the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Salaries and Remuneration in the Institutions of BiH, proposed by Mirjana Marinković Lepić and Predrag Kojović, with the opinion of the Finance and Budget Committee, as well as the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Civil Service in the Institutions of BiH, proposed by MP Damir Arnaut, with the opinion of the Constitutional Committee, but the two committees chose not to support the Bills.

At the end of today's session, several documents labeled as "confidential" should also be dicssed by the House of Representatives.
