GORAŽDE, March 27 (FENA) - The fifth case of coronavirus infection has been confirmed in the Bosnia-Podrinje Canton (BPC) Goražde.
President of the Crisis Staff of the BPC Ministry of Health and epidemiologist dr. Medina Bičo explains that out of the last ten people tested, nine were negative, while one was positive.
“Yesterday we tested ten people who are epidemiologically related to the company Ginex. One case has been confirmed and it is a person who was in contact with the first infected person on March 12 and 13. They did not have very close contact, so we are surprised by this positive result, ” Bičo explained.
New tests were announced throughout the day, stating that they had already identified 20 people to test and teams are on the ground.
“We need to extend that testing circle to the family of the last positive person and to her contacts that she had before being put in isolation. I emphasize that this person, like the other four in which the coronavirus has been confirmed to be in good general condition, has no symptoms and problems,” she emphasized.
She pointed out that the number of people in isolation would also increase significantly, and as of yesterday, 135 people were under medical supervision.
“However, this number will increase as new solutions will be issued today. Persons who have been in contact with those of Ginex are constantly reported. There is panic because all Ginex employees want to get tested, but the most important thing is that they are now in isolation, and we are prioritizing testing. At today's session of the Crisis Staff, I will insist on the urgent provision of as many tests as possible so that all people who have been in contact can be tested, and depending on the results of the tests it depends on which direction we will go,” said the President of Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health of BPC Goražde.
