SARAJEVO, March 30 (FENA) - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH and Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda does not support the proposal to amend the Law on Value Added Tax (VAT), proposed today by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Denis Zvizdić.
Bevanda, who is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA), believes that changes to the VAT Law without clear background and thorough analysis could do more harm than good.
"Legislative changes at this time without justification and clearly stated positive and negative effects can only do harm. Such crucial things could only be introduced after thorough analysis and good reasoning and with the participation of everyone in BiH, with full consensus," Bevanda believes.
He also noted that the amendments to the law, that relate to the stretching of deadlines for payment of VAT, would have only a negative effect, said the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH.
