GORAŽDE, April 17 (FENA) - The assistance from the Republic of Serbia has been delivered to Goražde, which is the result of a letter that Mayor Muhamed Ramović sent to President Aleksandar Vučić, requesting specific medical assistance, which arrived late last night.
Two ventilators were delivered, one clinical and one mobile, 300 tests for coronavirus, then 10.000 disposable gloves, 10.000 respiratory masks, 500 liters of disinfectants, 500 visors, 200 protective suits for medical personnel and 200 protective goggles.
Mayor Ramović emphasized that due to the emergence of coronavirus pandemic and in the absence of necessary medical equipment and the fact that health facilities were not adequately equipped at that moment, he sent a request for assistance to numerous addresses.
“Although we hoped and wished that medical equipment would be delivered earlier, but since the end of the pandemic is not yet even close, the equipment will be of great benefit to our healthcare facilities and citizens. On this occasion, I would like to thank the President of the Republic of Serbia and all citizens of the Republic of Serbia for their valuable equipment and understanding. I also express my gratitude to friends from Sandžak who have shown exceptional kindness and desire to contribute to providing equipment for their fellow countrymen in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Ramović.
He added that the city government had sent 52 written requests for assistance and as many telephone calls, and that medical equipment from other countries is expected to arrive soon.
