SARAJEVO, May 3 (FENA) - The possible arrival of the Russian Federation Armed Forces unit in Mostar to disinfect the University Clinical Hospital has caused a lot of uncertainty. The BiH Presidency is expected to make the final decision on granting entry permission to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina from Serbia.
Chairman Šefik Džaferović said that the BiH Presidency cannot decide in this case because the necessary procedures have not been followed.
“There is no position of the Council of Ministers, no competent ministries and other agencies that have to be involved in the whole process,” Džaferović said.
As for possible cooperation with the armed forces of other countries and their arrival in BiH, Džaferović said that he is grateful to all those who want to help, but the procedures must be followed.
“The Ministry of Defense of BiH and the competent ministries of other countries can reach a bilateral agreement on cooperation, in coordination with EUFOR and with the approval of the BiH Presidency,” Chairman of the BiH Presidency said.
He added that he does not see the need to engage the armed forces of other countries for the disinfection of hospital facilities in BiH.
“The BiH Armed Forces have a unit trained in disinfection and decontamination. As one of the Presidency members under my authority, I am ready to give permission at any time for the use of that unit in any part of our country. As far as I am aware, BiH also has a sufficient amount of disinfectants. BiH needs to rely primarily on its own resources,” Džaferović told FENA.
