BRČKO, May 7 (FENA) - Siniša Kisić, the first mayor of the Brčko District of BiH and vice-president of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, died at the Brčko hospital last night after long and serious illness at the age of 66.
Kisić was a prominent sport and public worker, volleyball player of the former Yugoslavia and medal winner at the Mediterranean Games in Algeria in 1975, a member of the Presidency of the Olympic Committee of BiH and president of the Volleyball Federation of BiH.
With the establishment of the Brčko District of BiH, Kisić was appointed the first mayor of that local community. He held the position of coordinator of the Office of the Brčko District of BiH in the Council of Ministers of BiH from 2006 to last year, when he was also replaced by the former mayor of Brčko, Miroslav Gavrić.
Kisić was born in Brčko in 1954. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics, and in his professional career he performed several managerial positions in Brčko companies.
