MOSTAR, August 18 (FENA) - Our plan is to show the pivotal role of HDZ BiH through the election cycle this year as well, and I think we will succeed in that, said HDZ BiH President Dragan Čović in Mostar after the formal session of HDZ BiH presidency, held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its founding.
“Our ambition is that this year, in accordance with the agreement we signed with the SDA, and it was partially realized regarding Mostar, we will complete the part of the agreement related to election legislation and ensuring legitimate representation of constituent peoples at all administrative levels,” said Čović.
He added that the party wants to create a "completely new environment in BiH" in the future.
“We have built the infrastructure we are proud of through the activities of the HNS, where we have re-strengthened our community, but also through our constituents: Youth, Women's Community, Political Academy, Founders 'Club, Veterans' Club. We will try to include representatives of the economy in these components in order to encourage our economy to be their logistics in some way,” said Čović.
He pointed out that BiH's Euro-Atlantic path is a priority for HDZ BiH and that the Croats in BiH have no other alternative.
The celebration of the 30th birthday of the HDZ BiH was also attended by a delegation of the HDZ RH, led by Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia Gordan Grlić Radman.
“I am proud to point out that as a sister party we have shared equal European values and I am committed to the European path of BiH and Euro-Atlantic integration,” said Radman.
He added that listening to the retrospective of the activities of the HDZ BiH, one must congratulate on this important anniversary of the party that, as he said, is an active, strong, leading and central party of the Croat people in BiH.
“Croats in BiH, as the smallest constituent people, deserve to exercise the rights that belong to them under the Dayton Agreement and the Constitution, so that Bosnia and Herzegovina will have a strong advocate of BiH's European path in Croatia, but also the protection of Croats in BiH, based on the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia,” said Grlić Radman.
He reminded that the Zagreb Declaration, adopted at the summit of the EU and the countries of the Western Balkans, emphasized the issue of BiH's European path as a complex state of two entities and three constituent peoples.
