NiP: Serbia continues to be a major destabilizing factor in the region

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, August 23 (FENA) - The latest coordinated attacks from Belgrade and Banja Luka on the sovereignty and integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina are another proof that the politics of Greater Serbia is very much alive even today, a project that caused genocide, ethnic cleansing and left thousands and thousands dead behind, stated the People and Justice Party (NiP) in reaction to the last statements by the presidents of SNSD and Serbia, Milorad Dodik and Aleksandar Vučić, regarding the attempts to connect the status of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the one of the Republic of Kosovo.

"It is sad, but also always sobering, to testify about the continuous attacks on the sovereignty and integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Serbia continues its policy of destabilizing all its neighbors, from North Macedonia and Kosovo, to Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and such efforts by the regime of Aleksandar Vučić must be recognized by the international community and adequately sanctioned. Serbia has again, as in the 1990s, become the main destabilizing factor in the region," it is said in the statement of the People and Justice Party.

The political party points out that the integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina managed to be defended even in more difficult circumstances, and that patriotic forces will always find an adequate way to respond to such challenges.

The statuses of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Kosovo cannot be brought into any kind of connection. Bosnia and Herzegovina is a member of the United Nations, it is recognized by all members of the European Union as the case with the rest of the world.

Kosovo, as the youngest European country, is slowly but surely moving towards independence and it is a process that cannot be stopped or reversed. For the entire region, including Serbia, it would be best to acknowledge the reality, abandon the mythological and destabilizing policies and move towards Euro-Atlantic integration. The Serbian policy of destabilization experienced a fiasco from Macedonia to Montenegro," stressed the NiP.

The work on strengthening Bosnia and Herzegovina's institutions, clearly defining strategic state and national interests, and insisting on Bosnia and Herzegovina's NATO path must be the basis of any pro-Bosnian politics, the party believes.

"The collapsing of institutions through the networks of nepotism and corruption and the surrender of important institutions to the Dodik-Čović power axis, for the purpose of appointing party henchmen to certain positions, do not contribute to a quality response to such challenges. We must build a strong society, a one that Dodik, Vučić and the like would not be able to undermine," it is said in the statement.
