SARAJEVO, September 2 (FENA) - Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH, Fadil Novalić, said today in Sarajevo that he was pleased that a strategy for future action covering three segments has been established at a meeting of the entity prime ministers with the BiH Council of Ministers Chairman Zoran Tegetija.
He explained that the first implies maintaining the budget balance at any cost with the help of foreign funds, while the domestic one will be directed to business entities.
"The second segment implies the initiation of investment spending in support of economic activities, and the third the adoption of laws to improve the business environment," said Novalić.
He added that the measures taken in the previous period were short-term and broad in a sense and that they gave results even though there are different perceptions out there.
"The fact is that we have maintained the level of employment much better than the surrounding countries, and the drop in GDP is the second smallest in Europe," said Novalić.
He announced that the FBiH Government will no longer have a medium-term broad economic support program, but will focus on the sectors that have proven to be the most vulnerable.
"These sectors are tourism, transport, exporters and airport operation," Novalić specified.
