BIHAĆ, October 1 (FENA) - Two people were killed last night in a conflict among migrants in Bihać settlement of Žegar, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Una-Sana Canton confirmed for FENA.
"Last night at 10.15 pm, the Bihać Police Station received a report from a citizen from Žegar of a mass conflict between a larger group of migrants on Žegarsko polje, a location between the Žegar settlement in the direction of Plješevica Mountain, and that there were injured," said the spokesman of the USC Police, Ale Šiljdedić.
Several police patrols were sent to the place, which confirmed the allegations if the report.
"It was determined that two people were killed, 10 people were seriously injured and eight slightly. These are citizens of Pakistan, and they were injured by the cold weapons, knives, as well as blunt objects, wooden sticks. According to their statements, they were attacked by another group of migrants originally from Afghanistan," said Šiljdedić.
The prosecutor was informed about everything and stated that it is a criminal offense of murder. An investigation is underway, as well as a search for the perpetrators.
"The terrain is being searched even though it is a bit inaccessible, but most likely the persons who committed this crime have already headed in the direction of Croatia. This is one of those improvised tent settlements that are being built on the territory of the entire USC, and migrants from here are starting to cross the border illegally," said Šiljdedić.
