SARAJEVO, October 5 (FENA) - The Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton adopted today, in a shortened procedure, the amendments to the Law on Higher Education.
The Minister of Education, Science and Youth of SC, Anis Krivić, pointed out that these changes imply that the senate of the higher education institution can make a decision to approve an additional exam term which will be realized until the beginning of the 2020/2021 academic year in addition to regular exam terms and that in the 2020/2021 academic year, the higher education institution can organize and implement the teaching process as well as conducting exams for part-time students and students studying by distance learning (DL-study) in a manner determined by the statute.
He emphasized that in the exam period, based on the decision of the senate of the higher education institution, students can take exams from subjects for which, for objective reasons, the June-July exam period could not be organized and conducted, and that exams can be realized online or in the premises of the organizational unit respecting the epidemiological measures.
Krivić said that the student, in the process of enrolling in the 2020/2021 academic year, has the right to enroll in the next year of study without fulfilling all or some of the conditions prescribed by this law and the acts of the higher education institution for enrollment in the next year of study, on which the decision is made by the senate of the higher education institution.
Opposition MPs in the Assembly complained that the SC Government did not adopt the amendments of the proposers - MPs, led by Damir Marjanović, in the Proposal for Amendments. They pointed out that they wrote the text of the proposal in agreement with students, the Senate and the deans, and that the SC Government submitted a different Bill in a shortened, not urgent procedure, at today's session, as agreed.
