CEC enables voting from Australia, Finland, Canada, Hungary, Russia and USA

SARAJEVO, November 5 (FENA) - The Central Election Commission of BiH adopted, at yesterday's emergency session, the Rulebook on Amendments to the Rulebook on the Conduct of Elections in BiH relating to voting by mail outside BiH and exercising the right to vote for those who are COVID-19 positive and/or in isolation and do not have an act (medical finding or solution) from the competent authority.

The adopted act stipulates that in the conditions of extremely difficult or interrupted postal traffic caused by the epidemic of the COVID-19 virus, as well as in the case of significantly difficult postal traffic with overseas countries, the voter may submit a return envelope for the Central Election Commission of BiH to the competent diplomatic-consular mission of BiH but in a special envelope containing the postmark of the country from which the vote is cast, with the date on the postmark no later than November 15, 2020, that is, for voters who vote for the City Council of the City of Mostar from those countries no later than December 20, 2020.

Based on the information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH and postal operators in BiH, the Central Election Commission of BiH adopted a Decision on the list of countries that will be able to deliver voting packages through diplomatic and consular missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Australia, Finland, Canada, Hungary, the Russian Federation and the United States are not on the list, the CEC said.
