Judgment upheld in Saša Ćurčić case for wartime rape

SARAJEVO,  February 15 (FENA) - The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent out, on 15 January 2021, a second instance judgment in the case of Saša Ćurčić dismissing as ill-founded the appeals filed by the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and defense counsel for the accused Saša Ćurčić, and upholding the judgment of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina of 14 September 2020.

The trial judgment of 14 September 2020 found the accused Saša Ćurčić guilty of the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172(1) of the Criminal Code of BiH, in connection with Sub-paragraph g) (coercing other person into sexual intercourse – rape), all as read with Article 180(1) of the CC BiH.

The Court sentenced the accused to imprisonment for a term of 5 years, stated the BiH Court.
