SARAJEVO, March 3 (FENA) - The delegation of Caritas Europa and Caritas Austria, led by Msgr. Michael Landau will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina from March 4 to 7 to get acquainted with the current migrant crisis and the activities of the Caritas network in BiH.
The delegation will visit migrant centers in the Bihać region (Lipa, Sedra) and Ušivak near Sarajevo, talk to the ambassadors to BiH, the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljić and the Caritas network in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A press conference was announced for Friday, March 3, in Sarajevo at the residence of the Archbishop of Vrhbosna. The announced speakers are Cardinal Puljić, who is also the President of Caritas BiH, Msgr. Tomo Knežević, director of Caritas BiH, Msgr. Michael Landau, President of Caritas Europa and Caritas Austria, and Silvia Sinibaldi, Director of Humanitarian Affairs at Caritas Europa.
Caritas in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been active at all levels since May 2018 in providing charitable assistance during the migrant crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Recently, due to the worsening situation, especially in the Lipa camp near Bihać, since the end of last year, there has been great interest from all over Europe about the situation with migrants in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Numerous Caritas organizations around the world (Italy, Austria, Switzerland, the United States, Slovenia, Spain, Poland, Germany and others) are actively working and helping to resolve this crisis through Caritas projects in BiH.
In this way, Caritas in Bosnia and Herzegovina helps in the current situation in cooperation with other humanitarian and charitable organizations, both domestic and foreign.
