SARAJEVO, March 26 (FENA) - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Commission for Cooperation with NATO of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Josip Brkić today had a meeting with NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
During the talks, Deputy Minister Brkić pointed out that Bosnia and Herzegovina's foreign policy is aimed at preserving and promoting peace, security and stable democratic development and contributing to international peace and security. He stressed that BiH is determined to take further steps to strengthen regional and global security by enhancing partnership with NATO and the European Union, thus ensuring more lasting stability in BiH.
NATO Deputy Secretary General Geoană stressed that the reform programs are an excellent way for BiH to cooperate with NATO, and that the Alliance will support the implementation of the reforms contained in the programs.
He stressed the importance of fulfilling the conditions and tasks facing BiH on its Euro-Atlantic path, because in this way BiH is reforming its institutions that are becoming more efficient in the service of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He also congratulated Brkić on his appointment as Chairman of the NATO Cooperation Commission and wished him much success in his future work.
