SARAJEVO, March 31 (FENA) - BiH Defense Minister Sifet Podžić and Chinese Ambassador to BiH Ji Ping today signed certificates on handover of engineering machines and vehicles by the Chinese Ministry of Defense to the BiH Armed Forces at the barracks in Rajlovac.
These are six unloading trucks, three backhoe loaders, two tractors with a low-loader semi-trailer, two trucks with a loading crane, a bulldozer and a compact excavator.
“It is a great pleasure for me to attend the handover of a donation worth 10 million yuan, which was provided by the Ministry of Defense of China for the Armed Forces of BiH. This is a non-refundable aid that China provides to BiH. I hope that the new equipment will contribute to an additional increase in the support capacity of the AF BiH, which is expected to play a more significant role in social construction and civil protection and rescue,” said Ambassador Ji Ping.
Taking over the donation and signing the certificate, said Minister Podžić, was preceded by the previously signed agreement between the Ministries of Defense of China and BiH, in the amount of 2.5 million KM.
“This equipment will be of great importance primarily in performing one of our missions, and that is to help civilian authorities in responding to natural and other disasters and accidents, as well as to perform other regular tasks of the Armed Forces. Therefore, I express my immense gratitude for China's continued engagement in helping the citizens of BiH to ensure a brighter future for all of us,” Podžić pointed out.
