BiH receives approval to export planting material to the Russian market

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, April 14 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina Staša Košarac confirmed that the Russian Federation has approved the continuation of imports of planting material and seedlings to the producers in BiH.

“Our intensive negotiations with the Russian side have resulted in positive news for domestic farmers. The company 'Poljoagro' from Šamac received the green light to continue exporting fruit seedlings to the Russian market, after the inspectors of the Russian Agency for Phytosanitary Supervision determined that this company fulfilled all the conditions for the continuation of exports,” said Minister Košarac.

According to him, the producer of planting material "Poljoagro" from Šamac was approved to export 500,000 apple seedlings and 300,000 peach seedlings to the Russian market this year.

“The value of the contracted work is more than one million euros, and I was especially encouraged by the fact that in 2021 this company provided a larger amount of seedlings intended for the Russian market compared to last year,” said Minister Košarac, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH.
