Novalić: Pehar did not withstand public pressure

FENA Muhamed Hadžibegić

SARAJEVO, May 21 (FENA) - FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić said he is not happy about the fact that the director of the FBiH Public Health Institute Davor Pehar resigned today due to insufficient quantities of vaccines against COVID-19 available to citizens of the Federation of BiH and disagreements with the policies for the direct procurement of vaccines which he was authorized by the Government of the Federation of BiH.

“Pehar did not withstand the public pressure when it comes to the procurement of vaccines, which is the most important issue in society today,” said Novalić.

He added that he believes that there should be brave people in these positions who, in times like this, must take risks and do the job they are in charge of.

Novalić pointed out that the Institute of Public Health is in charge of immunization by law, and that Pehar's resignation will not affect the process of procuring vaccines.
