SARAJEVO, May 28 (FENA) - Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers of BiH and Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Bisera Turković addressed today in the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of France to Bosnia and Herzegovina Christine Toudic a delegation of more than 50 representatives of the prestigious French Institute for Higher National Defense Studies (IHEDN).
Turković spoke about the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an emphasis on the processes of integration into the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
“The future of Bosnia and Herzegovina is within the European Union. I am convinced that the integration process and ultimately BiH's accession to the Union will solve most of the challenges we now face, not only BiH, but the entire region. Therefore, it is necessary to intensify and accelerate it. BiH's progress and assistance to the forces leading the European processes in BiH are the best response to all attacks and attempts to destabilize the situation in the region and within our country,” said, among other things, Minister Turković.
According to her, waiting too long and delaying BiH's progress towards membership is not the solution and opens up space for other forces to strengthen their role in the Western Balkans region. She also spoke about the challenges BiH is facing due to internal arrangements that require limited reforms to meet European standards and increase functionality and efficiency in implementing obligations, the Press Service of the BiH MoFA announced.
