SARAJEVO, June 8 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić said that today's final verdict against Ratko Mladić, which established the several joint criminal enterprises that were committed in BiH, namely the political and now military leadership of the entity of Republika Srpska, clearly shows that there was an intention for committing a series of the most heinous crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, based on ethnic background.
Thus, as Komšić stated, it was very clearly established that the intention of the political and military leadership of the Republika Srpska resulted in the planning, organization and implementation of a number of the most serious crimes, including the crime of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and ethnic cleansing.
"When we know all that, then it is clear that the then political and military leadership of the Republika Srpska aimed to create an ethnically cleansed Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which they would thus create a completely different environment for the realization of their political goals, which unfortunately we are still facing in these peacetime conditions," said Komšić.
He concludes that today's verdict "ends the idea of some kind of 'peaceful divisions', which some release to the public for their own political goals, and that in the future, we must turn to remove from political and public life all these elements that The Hague has identified as a joint criminal enterprise".
