SARAJEVO, June 9 (FENA) - Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Bosnia and Herzegovina Sadık Babür Girgin visited the Center for Healthy Aging and donated equipment and raw materials provided by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) within the "My Creative World" project.
On that occasion, he pointed out the importance of paying attention to the elderly, who have spent their lives contributing to the community, society and the country.
"They deserve all our attention and support to enrich their lives and make them more pleasant. We in Turkey respect the elderly. Therefore, I was honored to visit the Center and see that the realized project of TIKA contributed to the strengthening of creative workshops for the elderly," said the ambassador.
The elderly, he added, have the opportunity to develop their skills, to be creative and their works of art deserve all the congratulations.
Also, the coordinator of TIKA for BiH, Muhamed Unal, expressed satisfaction that he was given the opportunity to support the elderly who contributed to BiH society.
He said that the project "My Creative World" donated the necessary sewing machines and raw materials that will be used in the continuation of their activities.
"We will certainly continue to support the activities of the Center through donations and education, i.e. bringing educators from the Republic of Turkey who will share their knowledge with them and thus improve cooperation between the two countries," Unal pointed out.
On behalf of the Center, Varja Nikolić from the Association "Aktiva" thanked the ambassador and coordinator of TIKA, who stated that the Center has about 500 members, and more than 300 of them are active ones.
