BIHAĆ, June 10 (FENA) - Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to BiH Gholamreza Alimohammad Ghelichkhan during today's meetings with the Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton (USC) Mustafa Ružnić and the Mayor of Bihać Šuhret Fazlić emphasized the success of previous cooperation and interest in future joint projects.
He said that this region of Bosnia and Herzegovina has immense natural resources, especially water, which, according to him, is a potential that can be used for the benefit of both sides.
"Thanks to the long-term cooperation between Iran and this part of BiH, especially Bihać, the people of Iran are well aware of the local natural treasures, tourist potentials, but also current events in this area.
The relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran with Bosnia and Herzegovina, after the recognition of its independence, are in constant development. As far as our relations are concerned, we do not only attach importance to relations with state authorities in BiH, on the contrary - we give more importance to lower levels of government in your country, including the Una-Sana Canton, and the City of Bihać. We do our best to improve that cooperation as much as possible. There are good preconditions and areas in which the economic cooperation between the USC, Bihać with Iran can be developed, which is what we talked about today," said Ambassador Ghelichkhan.
Cantonal Prime Minister Ružnić and Bihać Mayor Fazlić used the opportunity to inform Ambassador Ghelichkhan about the current situation and the most current issues and the events in the canton and the city, especially the migrant crisis, tourism development and mutual cooperation in that area.
They also discussed cooperation in the field of culture, and media cooperation, i.e. the promotion of Iranian film through state-sponsored programs, as well as cantonal and local television stations.
