HUTOVO BLATO, June 10 (FENA) - A delegation of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Prime Minister Fadil Novalić, visited the Hutovo Blato Nature Park today with the aim of promoting it as a significant and attractive tourist destination.
The FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić told FENA that today, after a session in Mostar, they decided to visit this unique nature park and called on citizens to visit domestic tourist destinations, especially in this time of the pandemic.
"We have decided to promote domestic tourist destinations in this way, and today we have once more witnessed the unique natural beauty of Hutovo Blato," said Novalić emphasized.
The FBiH Minister of Environment and Tourism Edita Đapo said that the goal of today's visit was to promote the tourism destination of Hutovo Blato, an area that belongs to the Ramsar sites, which means that they are of great importance, not only for BiH, but for the whole world.
"Here we have about 260 different species of birds and about 50 species of fish that are protected. It would be good for the citizens to come and visit Hutovo Blato," pointed out Đapo.
The Mayor of Čapljina, Smiljan Vidić, expressed satisfaction with the visit of members of the FBiH Government.
"Unfortunately, the Hutovo Blato Nature Park is still just a potential, which is far from being sufficiently used," said Vidić.
However, he claims that in the last few years, there has been significant progress and that they have withdrawn one million euros from the European Union funds, which will be used for new facilities in order to further enrich the offer of the Nature Park.
"I am convinced that the new content will attract a larger number of tourists from BiH and the region," he emphasized.
The director of the Hutovo Blato Nature Park, Nikola Zovko, said that the tourist destination has numerous domestic and international references as a habitat for many plant and animal species, especially birds and fish.
He thanked the members of the FBiH Government who supported the nature park by coming to visit.
