SARAJEVO / BERN, June 25 (FENA) - Regular political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation were held on June 24 in Bern, and plans for bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation were discussed.
The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH was led by Bakir Sadović, acting Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, and Anna Ifkovits Horner, Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Central Asia led the delegation of the MFA of Switzerland.
The achieved level of bilateral cooperation between the two countries was also discussed, and in this regard, and interlocutors expressed satisfaction that the relations between BiH and Switzerland are good and friendly, without open issues.
The BiH delegation expressed gratitude to the Swiss Government for its long-term commitment and support to the development of BiH through development programs and projects, which will be continued by the new Cooperation Program 2021-2024.
They also discussed the current situation and consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as coronavirus vaccines. BiH delegation expressed gratitude for the financial assistance to BiH, intended to address the urgent needs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Swiss side informed the BiH delegation of its intention to donate three million vaccines to the COVAX mechanism, in order to speed up the delivery of vaccines to countries, including BiH, to receive paid vaccines as soon as possible.
The Swiss delegation expressed full support for BiH's efforts to meet its reform commitments on its European and Euro-Atlantic path. It was agreed to continue successful cooperation through regular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of BiH and Switzerland, the Press Service of the MFA of BiH announced.
