SARAJEVO, June 28 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović said today that the European Union has shown that it has remained consistent because it assessed the situation in BiH and its application for membership in the European Union and then made an opinion and suggested 14 priorities which BiH needs to fulfill on the way to the EU, and which are in the interest of BiH.
“All these principles are based on international law and civilizational achievements, and the Resolution of the European Parliament, which did not take into account some retrograde proposals that came from the Croatian delegation on the trail of respecting these 14 priorities,” added Džaferović.
Addressing the media ahead of today's forum "Western Balkans - the way forward", he noted that there is no other way and that everyone can talk what they want in BiH, including HDZ BiH President Dragan Čović, who, if he wants to be a true bearer of European values, first must respect the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights, the recommendations and opinions of the European Commission and the recently adopted Resolution.
He added that only the way forward is the right path, and those forces that stand for the way back should be told finally that they will never succeed and that the way forward means the integration of all Western Balkan countries into the European Union, as well as bilateral and multilateral cooperation, because there is no other way.
He is of the opinion that open issues between the countries of the region should be resolved through dialogue with strict application of international law and respect for the institutions of international justice.
