SARAJEVO, July 14 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović said today that the arrest of the director of the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA) Osman Mehmedagić in every country would be a matter of the highest importance which is something to seriously think about by all those who are involved in such actions.
"Respecting the principle of judicial independence and not going into the facts and reasons why the director of OSA was detained, I cannot escape the impression that they have been working on this for a long time to discredit that agency and dismiss its director," Džaferović told FENA.
He believes that several criminal proceedings initiated by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH in recent months, some of which have already ended with acquittals, could not be interpreted any differently.
"We must not forget that the attacks on the OSA director started from various political circles after the successful actions of the OSA in protecting the interests of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina," said Džaferović.
He called on the Prosecutor's Office of BiH to take into account its actions and not to be in the function of those whose goal is to discredit and destroy the Intelligence and Security Agency.
