SARAJEVO, August 4 (FENA) - Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković met last night in Tehran with the newly elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi.
Minister Turković congratulated on the election and wished a successful mandate to President Raisi, who officially took over the presidency of Iran yesterday, and the meeting with Minister Turković was one of the first official meetings.
During the meeting, they discussed the improvement of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and strengthening of cooperation in various fields. President Raisi said that it is necessary to strengthen economic cooperation and trade exchange, which will be one of the priorities of the new administration. He pointed out that Iran will always support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that it will support the progress of our country.
Turković thanked the people and officials of Iran for all the support they have provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the past decades, and informed the President of Iran about the current political situation in our country, the latest developments related to the High Representative's decisions and relations in the region.
Last night's meeting was also attended by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, with whom Minister Turković will hold a separate meeting today, together with delegations from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iran.
