SARAJEVO, August 16 (FENA) - The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina held an extraordinary session today, which was attended by the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić and a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović.
The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina took note of the information of the Ministry of Security of BiH on the activities of firefighting aircrafts from the Republic of Croatia in extinguishing the fire in Široki Brijeg, based on a bilateral agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia.
The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina tasked the Ministry of Security of BiH to examine the possibility of engaging the same or similar aircraft in extinguishing fires and assisting civilian authorities in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the future. Also, the Ministry of Security of BiH is tasked to continue with this type of practice, referring to bilateral agreements and agreements with neighboring countries, and other available international mechanisms and to react urgently, in case of any notification, in extinguishing fires in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
BiH Presidency calls on the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina to get involved in resolving the situation regarding firefighting in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to use his authority and enable the use of the aircrafts at the disposal of Bosnia and Herzegovina, either military or civilians, and to enable their urgent engagement in all situations that require it, the BiH Presidency announced.
