SARAJEVO, August 16 (FENA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina today, acting on the order of Minister Bisera Turković, formed a Crisis Staff that will conduct evacuation activities and help BiH citizens in Afghanistan, the ministry said.
The Crisis Staff, in cooperation with the BiH Embassy in Pakistan, is already undertaking intensive activities to find and consider all possible evacuation options in cooperation with the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Norway, Germany and other countries, for whose companies BiH citizens worked.
BiH Ambassador to IR Pakistan Sakib Forić is in contact with Pakistani authorities who have offered assistance in the evacuation.
Also, diplomatic activities are coordinated with the BiH embassies in Washington and London, in order to ensure cooperation and assistance from countries that are also evacuating their citizens from the crisis area.
Minister Turković also sent letters to the foreign ministers of the United States, Pakistan, Great Britain, Germany and Norway, asking for help and cooperation in the evacuation of BiH citizens from Afghanistan.
It was concluded that the Crisis Staff will operate until the last BiH citizen who wishes to do so is evacuated from the crisis area.
According to the latest information, at least nine BiH citizens are in Afghanistan, based on reports from the BiH Embassy and the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs on open communication channels. Information on the number of BiH citizens is continuously updated.
