SARAJEVO, September 12 (FENA) - President of the Association of Employers of the FBiH Adnan Smailbegović told FENA that it is impossible to assess how much damage was done by the blockade of the work of the FBiH Securities Commission in the previous period.
He pointed out that two years is a very long period for such a thing and that such negligence for the economy is probably specific only to the Federation of BiH.
"It is certainly a matter of great damage, but the indirect consequences could be even worse," said Smailbegović.
He explained that this has become a very bad signal to all domestic and foreign investors and businesses that will now think carefully about whether it is worth investing here.
Smailbegović specified that this can be seen in the example of Lidl, which came to BiH and opened its headquarters in the entity of Republika Srpska, and there are other examples of companies such as Coca-Cola that had their headquarters in the FBiH for a long time but it has now relocated it.
He believes that the commission will have a rather challenging period ahead because there are a lot of cases that need to be resolved.
"About half a year ago, I received information that about 600 cases are awaiting the formation of the commission, and today there are certainly more of them," said Smailbegović.
However, he believes that the commission will determine the priorities according to which it will resolve the backlog of cases, after which it should continue with its normal functioning.
