Sattler visiting Zenica today to open a new pavilion at Penitentiary complex

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, September 21 (FENA) - The Head of the EU Delegation and EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Johann Sattler, today will officially open the Pavilion IX in the Zenica Penitentiary, whose construction the European Union financed with more than 2.1 million euros.

The newly-built facility, with accommodation capacity for over 230 persons, will significantly improve conditions for both prisoners and staff, and contribute to greater security for all citizens.

On the same day, Ambassador Sattler will lay the foundation stone for the new building of the Zenica Municipal Court, for whose construction the European Union has allocated 2 million euros.

Both projects are part of a broader package of European Union assistance for the construction and reconstruction of facilities in the field of justice, with the aim of supporting the strengthening of the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the EU Delegation to BiH announced.
