Softić: HR should abolish the salaries for those who do not meet the obligations

SARAJEVO, September 29 (FENA) - Member of the Joint Committee for Supervision of the Work of the Intelligence and Security Agency of BiH Safet Softić (SDA), after the session of that committee was not held today due to the absence of members from the RS, said that the blockade of the institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina is part of a broader regional story and probably requires some deeper analysis.

"But, I am convinced that yesterday's telephone session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, at which the interim financing of BiH institutions was approved, i.e .the budget for the next three months, actually shows how much everything is connected in this region, between both BiH and Montenegro, and especially with the issue of Kosovo," said Softic.

He added that yesterday's telephone session shows how serious, among other things, Milorad Dodik was when he said that he "provided money for employees in the state institutions."

"I think that Christian Schmidt would become famous in this situation as the High Representative if he would abolish the salaries of all those who do not come to work. That would be a decision that would, for sure solve this crisis, and on the other hand, it would introduce seriousness in all decision-makers," said Softić.

According to him, the solution to this situation is simple - "the High Representative should abolish the salaries of those who do not fulfill their obligations."

"We saw yesterday that only the money was the reason why a telephone session was held. Therefore, if the reason is money, then it is enough to abolish benefits and salaries and I think that would put in order everything very quickly. This way, the path is harder, slower and will probably have its implications for the fate of this country in the coming period," said Softić, when asked to comment on the fact that the RS representatives participated in a telephone session of the BiH Council of Ministers yesterday, and members of the Joint Committee for Supervision of the OSA from that BiH entity did not come to the session today.
