HDZ BiH and HDZ Croatia discuss electoral reforms in BiH

FENA Press release

MOSTAR, September 30 (FENA) - A meeting of the delegation of the two sister parties HDZ BiH and HDZ Croatia was held today in Odžak, and discussed, among other things, the current political situation in BiH and Croatia.

The delegations were led by the President of the HDZ BiH and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the PA BiH, Dragan Čović, and the President of the HDZ Croatia and the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenković.

The meeting expressed confidence that a solution would be reached that would ensure equality and legitimate representation of the Croatian people in government institutions at all levels in BiH, with changes to the election law and limited constitutional changes, the HDZ BiH said.

It was emphasized that elected officials in the Presidency of BiH and the House of Peoples must have the legitimacy and support of the Croat people, which, as stated, is a key prerequisite for strengthening BiH, a state of three equal constituent peoples.

It is believed that a solution will be agreed by the end of this year, so that BiH can quickly address 14 key priorities and socio-economic reforms on the European path, the statement said.
