SARAJEVO, October 4 (FENA) - BiH Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić and BiH Presidency member Šefik Džaferović received OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde.
Komšić and Džaferović expressed gratitude to Sweden for its support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in the reform and integration processes of BiH, as well as in the enlargement process.
They expressed hope that Sweden, as a strong advocate of EU enlargement to the Western Balkans and as a country that supports Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to European integration, will repeat this position at the upcoming EU-Western Balkans Summit which is held on October 6, 2021 in the Republic of Slovenia.
Minister Linde pointed out that Sweden has long-term support for the integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina into the European Union and its sustainable development. She stressed the importance of co-operation between the two countries, especially in areas such as the rule of law, the fight against corruption, respect for human rights, education, media freedom, gender equality and the environment.
During the meeting, the activities of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe were also discussed, because this year Sweden is chairing this organization.
The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Minister Linde, emphasized that the priorities in the work were the defense of the European security order and the support of a comprehensive security concept, as well as the contribution to resolving conflicts in accordance with international law.
BiH Presidency members Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the OSCE Mission to BiH and stressed the importance of increased engagement of this international organization, especially in the segments of security, rule of law and respect for human rights and education.
The importance of parliamentary co-operation was also discussed, as the meeting was also attended by the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Margareta Cederfelt.
They also talked about the International Forum on Holocaust Remembrance and the Fight against Anti-Semitism, which will be held in Sweden on October 13, 2021, and invitations to participate were also sent to the members of the Presidency of BiH.
On behalf of the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, the meeting was attended by the advisor Ana Trišić – Babić, announced the Presidency of BiH.
