SARAJEVO, October 25 (FENA) - The FBiH Police Administration today received a delegation from the Regional Center for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (SEESAC).
Today's visit is part of the regular activities of the Center with the aim of analyzing the existing capacities of relevant institutions in BiH for conducting investigations of criminal offenses related to firearms, as well as for concrete support to strengthen their capacities.
The importance of joint activities of SEESAC and police agencies in BiH and in the region was expressed at the meeting, all with the aim of effectively fighting crime and possession of illegal weapons.
It was also pointed out that the availability of legal and illegal small arms poses a security risk to society as a whole, and joint activities are needed to increase general security, as well as to combat risks when it comes to these issues.
SEESAC has hired a team of experts to conduct the analysis, after which proposals will be made to support and strengthen the capacities of the competent authorities through the development of standard operating procedures, procurement of equipment and necessary training in accordance with the results of the analysis, stated the FBiH Police Administration.
