Eight persons arrested for war crimes in Nevesinje and Mostar in 1992

SARAJEVO, December 16 (FENA) - Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) are carrying out an operation in the areas of Nevesinje, Gacko, Trebinje, Banja Luka and Sarajevo in the early morning hours today, due to suspicions of the criminal offense of crimes against humanity and war crimes against prisoners of war was committed in 1992 in this area.

As part of the operation, eight people have been deprived of their liberty, who, after criminal processing in the premises of the State Investigation and Protection Agency, will be handed over to the acting Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina for further proceedings.

The operation is being carried out on the orders of the Prosecutor's Office and the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, SIPA said.
