Puljić: People can do as they want, but they will not do as long as they want

SARAJEVO, December 26 (FENA) - Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, led the Christmas mass at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Sarajevo on the occasion of the great Christian holiday of Christmas.

“New times have come. Man is no longer important, technology, media, politics and government are important. It is important to have to spend and enjoy, and today we celebrate the fact that God loves man,” said the cardinal.

He pointed out that Christmas is the happiest holiday, because man experiences himself in the eyes of God.

The cardinal claims that Christmas can hardly be interpreted logically, because God has descended on man's life path to walk with him and that this is where the human mind stops.

By this act, the cardinal added, man became aware of the essence of his dignity, not because God created him, but because he loved him so much that he restored that dignity to him.

The cardinal also said that there is no worse pain in life than the pain of being rejected, abandoned, forgotten and that no one cares.

“I observe how much money is spend on weapons and political prestige, and then everyone is complaining about how poverty is growing. Loneliness is the worst poverty,” said Cardinal Puljić.

He told the faithful that they cannot celebrate Christmas if they carry resentment and hatred in their hearts, because there is no place for God there.
