NEUM, January 28 (FENA) - We would not be here today without optimism, without an appropriate approach to resolving the integrity of the election process and without a belief that the solution we agree on will get the required parliamentary majority, said US Special Envoy for Electoral Reform in BiH Matthew Palmer today in Neum.
He added that representatives of BiH political parties are participating in the negotiations, as well as experts who, he said, will help resolve some of the more difficult technical issues.
"Whatever the solution ultimately is, the most important is that it is in line with the highest standards," the US envoy said.
Palmer added that he expects members of the Interdepartmental Working Group for changes to the Election Law to join the negotiations on Saturday. He also expects the participation of political representatives from the Republika Srpska.
Director of the European External Action Service, Angelina Eichhorst, pointed out that different opinions and views could be heard during the negotiations, and expressed satisfaction that, in addition to the ruling party, representatives of the opposition were also participating in the negotiations.
„We have a lot of work ahead of us, but I am glad that we can witness constructive approaches and views of solutions of all participants. We are working on a lot of topics, but we hope for a successful outcome,” concluded Eichhorst.
