Zvizdić and Softić at UN taking part in parliamentary debate on sustainable recovery and development

NEW YORK/SARAJEVO, February 17 (FENA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić and Chairman of the BiH Delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Safet Softić are participating in a two-day parliamentary debate entitled "Building Political Support Response to Sustainable Recovery”, which began today at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The conference was opened by the President of the UN General Assembly Abdulla Shahid and the President of the IPU Duarte Pacheco.

The parliamentary debate, jointly organized by the President of the IPU and the President of the UN General Assembly, is an opportunity for parliamentarians from around the world to discuss sustainable recovery and development in light of the current coronavirus pandemic.

The gathering is also an opportunity for IPU and UN officials, as well as representatives of parliaments to offer perspectives and solutions for building stable economic opportunities at the global level, as well as for strengthening democratic societies and building a sustainable environment for future generations.
