Grubeša and Tambadou discuss the Revised National Strategy for War Crimes Cases

SARAJEVO, April 4 (FENA) - Minister of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina Josip Grubeša met today with Secretary of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Courts (IRMCT) Abubacarr Tambadou.

 

Tambadou is in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the first time since taking over as Secretary of the Mechanism in July 2020.

The meeting focused on Bosnia and Herzegovina's cooperation with the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Courts, and Minister Grubeša, based on previous successful cooperation, expressed his full readiness to continue it in future activities.

Among other things, they referred to the adopted Revised National Strategy for Work on War Crimes Cases, which is one of the key priorities set by the European Commission for Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to the European Union.

The collocutors also discussed the process of obtaining, entering and storing data on criminal convictions of BiH citizens, handed down by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.

The Secretary of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Courts expressed support for the work of the Ministry of Justice of BiH, as well as other judicial institutions in order to strengthen the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the ministry said.
