SARAJEVO, April 17 (FENA) - FBiH Minister of Entrepreneurship and Crafts Amir Zukić confirmed in an interview with FENA that there is a noticeable trend of growth of beneficiaries of loan guarantee programs in the Federation of BiH, developed by this ministry for micro, small and medium enterprises, as well as for craftsmen and other independent economic activities.

“Significantly greater expansion is expected this year. The reason for that is primarily the benefits recognized by the beneficiaries, and they imply facilitated borrowing in a way that the borrower provides only 50 percent of the collateral, while the other part is guaranteed by the Federation of BiH. In addition, the Government of FBiH has made decisions for 2021 and 2022 on interest rate subsidies in the maximum amount of 4.5 percent for entities covered by these two loan guarantee programs,” said Zukić.

He reminds that the FBiH Guarantee Fund was established as part of a package of measures of the Government of the Federation of BiH to mitigate the economic consequences caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Thanks to the Fund, he says that the access to financing for economic entities has improved in a way that effectively transfers risk through guarantees.

The fund can be approved for the following loan guarantee programs: micro, small and medium enterprises, agriculture and food industry, large companies, exporters, and craftsmen and other independent economic activities.

He points out that in 2021, ASA Bank leads in the number of approved credit placements within the Guarantee Fund for programs under the authority of the Ministry.

He states that the total amount of approved guarantees of the Fund in 2021, for all five programs, is 94,925,203.54 KM, of which micro, small and medium enterprises account for 23,490,801.16 KM.
