SREBRENICA, June 12 (FENA) - British Ambassador Matthew Field received the "Friend of the Memorial Center" award in Srebrenica on Saturday.
"During his diplomatic term, the project "Truth, Dialogue, Future" was launched, which became the basis for transforming the Srebrenica Memorial Center into a central institution of museum and research work on genocide and war in BiH, but also a framework for providing opportunities for young people, raising global importance, and building lasting partnerships around the world," said the Memorial Center.
Thanks to the support of the United Kingdom, the exhibitions "Steps of Those Who Did Not Make It" and "Srebrenica: Our Story" were set up, which include the basic results of research work on collecting personal items and developing oral history programs at the Memorial Center.
"With the support of the United Kingdom, we have developed the Annual Report on Genocide Denial, we are developing an educational program on genocide for all generations, we have implemented reports on prevention and early warning of genocide and crimes against humanity in 4 cases worldwide, a digital library has been developed. international exchanges and through professional education and training of the institution's staff.
An archive and conservation workshop have been set up, and in addition to all this, the United Kingdom has helped create a new official website with important support for the development of social media channels. We have established partnerships with more than 40 organizations and institutions around the world, stated the Srebrenica Memorial Center.
