SARAJEVO, June 12 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina  Šefik Džaferović participated in the Summit of the Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP), where he held bilateral meetings and attended a dinner of leaders with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

"Chancellor Scholz sent strong messages when it comes to the European future of the Western Balkans. He made it clear that the Berlin Process will be strengthened, which is very important for us in order to implement the initiative on the Common Regional Market. Yesterday at the Summit, with the participation of everyone in the region, as well as EU countries, it was clearly said that regional economic cooperation should go through the framework of the Berlin Process," Džaferović told FENA.

He added that the condemnations of the secessionist activities in BiH, which the chancellor expressed during his visit to Belgrade, was very important.

"It is not by chance that such a message was sent in Belgrade. Thanks to the action of the international community led by the USA, the EU and the United Kingdom, the situation is somewhat more stable, but you still have some who call for the dissolution of BiH. They obviously will not stop doing that until they face the strategy of maximum pressure from the international community. If there is no other way, and it seems that there is not, I support it because the peace and integrity of BiH, as a cornerstone of European security, must not be questioned because of the ambitions of provincial politicians in the RS who are under Russian influence and who thought they could question the existence of the state of BiH without suffering any consequences," he said.

Džaferović did not want to comment on the speeches of Milorad Dodik, a member of the BiH Presidency from the RS.

"These are the speeches of a person who is increasingly being avoided at international gatherings, which speaks of the effectiveness of his speeches," said Džaferović.

Džaferović said that he supported the idea of the Greek Prime Minister that the Western Balkans should be fully integrated into the European Union by 2033, and that that time should be used for increasingly strong institutional connections between the region and the EU.
