SARAJEVO, December 7 (FENA) - At an extraordinary telephone session, the Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the Strategy in the field of migration and asylum for the period 2021 - 2025, in accordance with the recommendations of the European Commission for obtaining candidate status for Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Council session of the European Union in December.
The strategy in the area of migration and asylum, proposed by the Ministry of Security, aims to ensure the development of a quality system of migration and asylum in BiH in accordance with the standards of the European Union, and to enable active participation in these areas at the regional level.
That strategy defined seven strategic goals, among which are: improvement of the system of comprehensive management of migration and asylum policies; increasing the efficiency of state border control; more efficient management of illegal migration on the territory of BiH; improvement of the asylum system; more effective fight against migrant smuggling and human trafficking; support for legal migration and integration of foreigners legally residing in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and strengthening coordination mechanisms in the management of migration and asylum.
The Ministry of Security, after incorporating certain corrections adopted at today's session, will submit to the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina within 30 days the Proposal of an Action Plan for the period 2021 - 2025 in connection with the implementation of the Strategy in the area of migration and asylum.
At today's session, the Information of the Ministry of Communications and Transport on the public procurement procedure "Renting Microsoft licenses for the needs of BiH institutions" was adopted.
The missing funds for the implementation of the framework agreement on renting Microsoft licenses for the needs of the institutions of BiH for the period 2022-2025 will be provided from the current budget reserve of the institutions of BiH and international obligations of BiH.
The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina will express its opinion in the second round of voting on the Proposal for the Rulebook on Amendments to the Rulebook on the Internal Organization of the Ministry of Security and the announcement of a public competition for the filling of new positions for the provision of administrative and technical support to the Contact Point for cooperation with Europol, after it was not reached today consensus regarding new employment in the Ministry of Security of BiH, which is why this agenda item was not adopted, the Council of Ministers of BiH announced.
