SARAJEVO, January 9 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, said that it is high time that the officials of the entity Republika Srpska and Serbia stop their anti-Dayton activities, as well as their immoral and anti-civilizational policy of denying the judicially and scientifically proven genocide against Bosniaks.
He addressed the audience at a scientific meeting on the topic ‘January 9 - The Road to Genocide’, which was organized by the Archive of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina today at the National Theater in Sarajevo.
Bećirović said that it is very important to oppose genocide deniers with science and scientific facts at a time when separatist circles are targeting various untruths, falsifications and hoaxes.
He reminded that in 1992, the highest legal act of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not prescribe any right to self-determination for ethnic communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that the unconstitutional gathering of some renegade members of the RBH Assembly on January 9, 1992, was an act of lawlessness and violence against the legal order.
He said that the Constitutional Court of the Republic of BiH, with its decision of September 15, 1992, assessed the proclamation of the RS as an anti-constitutional act, as did the Badinter Commission of the European Community.
Today's commemoration of January 9, he said, represents a violation of the Dayton Agreement and the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that the Constitutional Court has ruled that commemorating the day of RS is unconstitutional.
He points out that it is time to start respecting the judgments of international and domestic courts.
“Let's not forget, the planners and executors of the criminal policy of destroying the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina were sentenced to more than 1,000 years in prison by the Hague Tribunal and the courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina. That is why the glorification of a dark policy that committed genocide represents an unacceptable act of insult and provocation for BiH, the EU and the UN,” he said.
He claims that the international community should and must send a global message in the interest of all humanity that the results of genocide and crimes cannot and should not be permanently recognized.
