FTC BiH - In 2022, growth of BiH exports 26 percent, domestic economy competitive (VIDEO)

SARAJEVO, February 21 (FENA) - Goods worth 18.4 billion KM were exported from Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2022, which is 3.8 billion KM or 26 percent more than in 2021. According to the analyzes of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, our economy is competitive and can produce and export goods to demanding European markets.

The Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FTC BiH) presented today to the media the basic indicators of BiH's foreign trade exchange with the world in 2022 compared to 2021, with special reference to the exchange of our country with the most important trade partners.

FTC BiH President Zdravko Marinković and Vice-Presidents Ahmet Egrlić and Vjekoslav Vuković stated that the past two years had been turbulent - the Covid-19 pandemic, then the war in Ukraine, and that all of this had an impact on inflationary trends, so such a situation also affected the economy. in the world, and therefore also in Bosnia and Herzegovina. the economy.

In this context, Marinković said that in 2022, goods with a total value of 18.4 billion KM were exported from BiH, and at the same time, goods with a total value of 29.1 billion KM were imported, which is an increase of 7.2 billion KM or 33 percent compared to the previous year.

As mentioned, the foreign trade deficit amounted to 10.7 billion KM, and the coverage of imports by exports was 63 percent.

- Merchandise exchange was achieved mostly with the countries of the European Union. The total volume of exchange with represents 68 percent of the total volume of exchange between BiH and the world - said Marinković.

The volume of exchange with the EU for 2022 was about 32.3 billion KM, which is 7.3 billion KM more than in 2021. In the past year, goods worth 13.3 billion KM were exported to the EU market, which is 2.8 billion KM more or 26 percent more than the year before.

At the same time, goods worth 19 billion KM were imported from the EU, which is an increase of 4.5 billion KM or 31 percent compared to the previous year. The EU participates in total exports with 72 percent, and in imports with 65 percent.

The deficit with the EU amounts to 5.7 billion KM, and the coverage of imports by exports was 70 percent.

- In terms of volume of exchange, Croatia leads the way. The volume of exchange with Croatia was KM 8 billion, which is KM 2.6 billion or 48 percent more than in 2021. Exports amounted to 2.6 billion KM, which is more by 700 million KM or 36 percent, and imports were 5.4 billion KM, which is an increase of 1.9 billion or 56 percent, and a deficit was realized in the amount of 2.8 billion KM. Coverage of imports by exports amounted to 48 percent - said Marinković.
