Council of National Minorities helping victims of earthquakes in Turkey and Syria

SARAJEVO, February 22 (FENA) - At the session held, the Council of National Minorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina made a decision to launch an charity action to collect financial aid for victims of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

Also, the members of the Council reached a framework agreement on the date of the Council meeting with the representatives of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH and the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, and determined a working group which, on behalf of the Council, will participate in that meeting.

The Council discussed the preparation of the analysis of the Law on the Protection of the Rights of Members of National Minorities of BiH and the preparation of possible proposals and amendments to this law, and decided to further consider this item on the agenda at a joint meeting of the Council of National Minorities of BiH with the Association of National Minorities of the Republic of Srpska, the Federation BiH and Brčko District of BiH.

A working group for the preparation of the thematic session "Position of National Minorities in Education" was also appointed.

A letter from the Advisory Committee for the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities regarding the appointment of the visit to BiH has been received, the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH announced.
